<h2 style="text-align: center;">April 2010 NOPR Meeting Minutes</h2>
<h3>Call to Order and Opening Remarks:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">The meeting was called to order on April 17, 2010 by Steven Stripp and Gary Vihinen acting for President Hank Samson.  There were 16 members present.</p>
<p>Steven stated that the Dungeness Kids Fair would be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Carrie Blake Park.  He noted that we are allowed two tables.  Steve will be there to represent the NOPR.</p>
<h3>Treasurer’s Report:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">Treasurer Steve Stripp stated that the Treasure had $1453.81 cash available with $1212.14 cash in the bank, $41.67 cash on hand, and a $200 donation from an Anonymous Contributor.</p>
<h3>Rolling Stock Upgrade Project:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">There are 25 car kits to be completed reported Steve Hauff.  All are unpainted and unprimed.  Steve said he has the cars but needs the wheel sets and couplers.  Joe Watkins stated that he has plastic wheels sets which may be suitable.  Steve H and Joe will check the sizes.  The cars need to be cleaned up with a soft brush and a mild dishwashing detergent.  The decision on where the work will take place will be deferred pending space available and the return of President Hank Samson.</p>
<h3>Work Party Report:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">It was reported that new legs were put on the new module.  Leveling the legs still needs to be accomplished.  The next work party will be Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Lincoln School in Port Angeles at 9:30 AM.</p>
<h3>Web Site:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">Chuck Howerton reported that several fixes had been made to the website.  Several Pages have been added for the different Scales.  The website can be located at:  http://www.nop-modelrr.com .</p>
<h3>G Gauge Equipment Available:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">Contact Fred Grant, 360-683-3194, 792 West Sequim Bay Road.  He apparently has Track, Locos, and Cars available.</p>
<h3>Cascade Rails Web Site:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">The website is up and will list what will happen at the Tacoma Convention.</p>
<h3>May 2010 NOPR Meeting:</h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">Charles Aldrich has a DVD that he will bring and Steve Hauff stated that he will bring a lap top computer and a projector.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[The Treasurer&#8217;s balance is $759.75 &#8211; $1 income and  $188.82 in expenses for DCC equipment, advertising and purchase of cars for  resale at the annual meet.

<div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;">The modules will be moved to the fairgrounds early  the morning of 8/18  Three individuals will be manning the modules at all times  during the fair.  Lauren will be getting tickets for those who will be manning  the modules. <p>Chuck Howerton reported the club&#8217;s website is operational &#8211; he will add a section where members can post items they have for sale on the website.  Please notify Chuck when the items are sold or withdrawn so he can delete them.</p>
<p>There will be a work party at Lincoln School Friday June 5 &#8211; 9am.   The DCC system is partially installed and work will continue on that as well as other items.  A book and video library at the school has been organized and members can check out items for their use.</p>
<p>Steve Stripp is organizing items for sale at our annual show &#8211; any items you may have please get them to Steve.</p>
<p>Lauren is planning on meeting with the Clallam County Fair Director after the work party this Friday to discuss our participation in the fair.  Any members wishing to attend should plan to do so.</p>
<p>The Bremerton show is 6/13 at the same location 10- 4 pm.</p>
<p>Several tables have been rented for our show 10-17/18.</p>
<p>Thanks to Bill Rice for talking with station KSQM staff and arranging for them to announce our meetings.</p>

<p><strong>OLD BUSINESS &amp; NEW BUSINESS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>There will be a work session on the club modules at Lincoln School April 17 at 9:30am.</li>
<li>The next meeting will be held at the club house at Lazy Acres April 25.  The May meeting will be at the Sequim Library.</li>
<li>The Bremerton Train Show is 6/13.</li>
<li>The NOPR website has several photos which have been posted..</li>
<li>The Railroad Bridge Society event is scheduled for 9/25, 26, 27.</li>
<li>The club modules will be on display at the Clallam County Fair in the Arts and Crafts Bldg. 8/20-23.Volunteers are needed to man the operation.  Chuck Howerton will have his N scale layout if space permits.</li>
<li>The Kitsp Live Steamers picnic is scheduled for 8/8.</li>
</ul>
<p>Thanks to Hans Mann for his presentation on how we might proceed on  installing DCC on the club modular layout.  It was moved, seconded and approved by a voice vote to add DCC to the layout.</p>
<p>The meeting was adjourned.</p>
